Il tema decorativo è realizzato per il fondo dell'immagine con quadrettatura policroma sempre diversa nei due lati e le pennellate monocromatiche eseguite a tratti sintetizzando le masse muscolari del cavallo.
La decorazione è eseguita con tecnica ad acquerello variamente diluito e tamponato con finiture in foglia d'oro 22Kt.
